  • Now that Ginny and Scott have tied the knot, we can finally retroactively post these awesome images from Ginny’s bridal!  We had so much fun traveling down to Corpus Christi where Ginny grew up.   We started inside at the South Texas Museum of Art where Ginny’s wedding reception was going to take place.  Then we headed outside to the beautiful grounds.  It looked like it was going to storm, was windy as heck and cold to boot, but see how gorgeous and graceful Ginny looks?  Boy, was she a trooper!

Carrie had her bridal at the Texas Capital and it was grand! We shot a lot of new stuff in new places at the capitol which is always fun for me! Shooting bridals is always a great experience! The shoes she wore to her bridal were the same shoes that she wore on her wedding day! I need a pair of those to shoot weddings in; nice purple shoes.

In April it will be Farah’s two year wedding anniversary. I photographed their wedding at Vista on Seward Hill in April of 2007 and it was a great wedding. Both Farah and Spence were awesome, but life happened and Farah didn’t have a moment to shoot her bridal until just today. We shot at the Barr Mansion, a wedding venue that boasts all organic food with a beautiful old house and an 18th century barn moved from New York and rebuilt to provide a very unique look and experience for a wedding or other event.

Farah is amazing! Is there anything else to be said about her? She is the Austin bridal photographers dream to shoot and the pictures were amazing!

Meg was waiting for Larry to return from Iraq for their wedding in March. Larry is stationed at Fort Hood when he is not serving our country outside of the US. Meg is a high school chemistry teacher in Killeen. When we first met, we had a very educational meeting about Killeen and the gang trouble and how some of her students were gang members. She said she kept a close eye on the chemicals in her class. I’ll bet she does. We shot Meg’s bridal at the Capitol.

We had some good fun with Angela at the Capitol and at the Amtrak station where we were looked on with glee by all of the people to frightened to sit on an airplane. We found some crime scene tape wrapped around a fence post and it turned into one of our more creative shoots involving crime tape. Angela’s wedding is coming up soon!

Megan is my drama queen bride. Boy, does she know how to pose. But I noticed something was a little bit off. She wasn’t as bubbly was she was when we did the engagement shoot with Josh. I thought maybe she was only happy when she was with her beloved. Halfway during the shoot she confessed that she had been horribly ill and hadn’t been able to eat anything for three days. I can’t believe she didn’t call me to reschedule. What a trooper!

Estella is one the of sweetest and shyest people I’ve ever met. She looked absolutely gorgeous and after doing some nice portraits we went into fashion overdrive.

April was referred to us by Joy and Clyde, one of our 2007 couples. Thanks, guys! She and Bruce will be getting married at in July at Kindred Oaks. She is such a sweet gal with an adorable laugh. We went out to Dunvegan Keep for her bridals. That was our first time there, and all I can say is, what an amazing place! Her mother came along and helped Christina with the reflector, wrangling April’s veil, and shooing the mosquitoes away. Her amazing bouquet is by Bouquets of Austin. I can’t wait to see the wedding flowers!

Don’t worry, Bruce didn’t see these pictures before the wedding. I retroactively posted this after the wedding!

I just kept thinking of Snow White while shooting Emily’s bridal at the capital and downtown. Her dress was very unique in a very Disney Princess way. I liked it. It was certainly different from the every day dress.

Ashley said she loved the name of my business and that’s what sold her on hiring me. I supposed it’s a good thing that I actually happen to be very good at taking pictures as well as having the ability to come up with memorable business names. I keep coming back to these images of Ashley and marveling. Some were a little obtuse, but I liked them. The thing that got me was that Ashley liked the obtuse ones too. Normally I shoot a couple of off the wall shots just to keep up my chops in the creativity department which 90% of the time ends up not being chosen by the bride and groom but instead ends up on my website. But Ashley like the ones I liked. Weird.
